NEW life has begun at Kingsley Community Primary School.

Chickens have hatched from eggs reared by the children in Caroline Smith’s class. Helped by Miss Smith, and teaching assistants Lesley Astley and Claire Holding the children turned the eggs and are now feeding the chicks.

The youngsters have also watched caterpillars turn into butterflies.

School trips have included a visit to a farm at Reaseheath and another farm locally, which is the home of one of the class pupils. They have also planted beans, pumpkins and sunflowers and are now watching them grow.

Visitors to the school have included people talking about their culture and others talking about their jobs.

This is our last First Class feature for the school year and we wish all reception children a happy transition into Year 1. First Class will return in September and if you would like a Chronicle photographer to come to your school email jo.henwood@trinitymirror.com.
