A woman has been taken to hospital after getting her hand trapped in an industrial shredder.

Emergency services were called to an address on Gadbrook Park in Northwich shortly after 10.30am on Thursday (December 3).

When firefighters freed her from the machinery, she was handed into the care of paramedics.

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said the patient, believed to be in her 20s, was taken to Leighton Hospital by paramedics.

A rapid response vehicle, ambulance and fire engine were in attendance.
