THE stars shone brightly at Chester Cathedral for the annual Spirit of Christmas concert for the NMC (Neuromuscular Centre).

THE stars shone brightly at Chester Cathedral for the annual Spirit of Christmas concert for the NMC (Neuromuscular Centre).

The Oscar winning actor Jim Broadbent was joined by Carey Mulligan, awarded Best Actress at the British Independent Film Awards this year, Tamsin Greig, Claudie Blakley, Tim McInnery, Richard Lumsden, Nickolas Grace, Madeleine Potter and Shaun Dooley for the special evening which raised more than £27,000 for the charity.

Hosted by patron Matthew Kelly, the concert featured singers Jon Christos and Jenny Williams, the Cheshire Constabulary Brass Band and the choir from Tushingham with Grindley Primary School.
