KEEN musicians young and old turned out for the 16th annual Nantwich Fiddle Day on Saturday.

There were tips for fiddle-playing beginners and advanced players at a series of workshops at Malbank High School.

In the evening the Boat Band hosted a special acoustic session upstairs in the Crown Hotel.

Nantwich fiddle player Fluff, event organiser for the past six years, said: 'We had a really good day and the workshops we had at Malbank School were also a success on the Friday.

'Youngsters came out of their lessons to take part in the events. We had people as young as six and people well into their 60s also had a go.

'Pupils did their own concert of traditional dancing known as ceilidh. They even got their parents to get up.'

Workshops were followed by English morris tunes and improvisation given by Guy Fletcher from England's finest ceilidh band Tickled Pink.
