FEMALE darts players are being sought to take part in an inaugural sporting competition for the chance to win £10,000.
The opening knockout qualifying round of the first Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Unicorn Women’s World Championship is being held in the Darts Zone at Rileys Chester on May 30, and is free to enter.
Players of all skills are invited and the local champion will be joined by 19 other Rileys winners from across the UK to compete in the second round at Barnsley Metrodome in June.
There, they will face former world champion Anastasia Dobromyslova, who is calling for entrants in her role as Rileys ambassador.
The 25-year-old darts star, who lives in Ellesmere Port, said: “I’m looking forward to playing in the first ever PDC Unicorn Women’s World Championship.
“Every ladies dart player should enter. There is some real talent out there.”
The grand final will be held in the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, in July, and will be televised live on Sky Sports.
