Winsford residents are being urged to provide feedback on town centre improvement and transport proposals.

Views are sought on emerging proposals identified in the Winsford Development Framework and Transport Strategy documents, which will help deliver the ambitions and priorities set out in the Neighbourhood Plan.

Cheshire West and Chester Council and Winsford Town Council are behind the joint consultation exercise, which runs until Sunday (November 22).

Proposals include a ‘greenway’ to improve connections between the waterfront and town centre, new facilities at the town park and upgrading the high street with larger retail units which would attract a wider range of retailers.

While proposed transport options include improving connections from the A54 to neighbouring areas and the M6, and reducing speed limits to 30mph.

'An exciting opportunity'

Cllr Brian Clarke , cabinet member for economic development and infrastructure, said: “Your feedback is an important part of the development and will contribute towards encouraging future investment in the town that helps create a better quality of life for local people.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the town, but it must be driven by what local people need and view as important.

“We would like to hear your feedback on the ideas whether they are general comments, or alternative suggestions.”
