INTERNATIONALLY renowned actor Sir Ian McKellen makes his debut performance for the Donmar Warehouse in Mark Ravenhill's new play The Cut which comes to The Lowry, Salford Quays, next week.

Paul is an ordinary man with a shocking secret. At home, he is a loving husband and father. At work, he administers the Cut.

In a society sickened by his profession, Paul struggles with his conscience and longs to tell the truth.

Stage and screen icon Sir Ian McKellen stars as Paul. Bolton-born McKellen's film appearances include The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the X-Men series, Gods and Monsters and Richard III.

His next release is the film version of the block-buster novel The Da Vinci Code.
