POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a crash which led to the death of a father-of-two.
Honda motorcycle rider Michael Blackmore, 49, of Somerville Street, Crewe, was involved in a collision with a car on Thursday, near Audlem.
He was travelling from Adderley in Shropshire when the collision took place on the A529 at 8.10pm.
The other vehicle involved was a black Audi A6 travelling towards Market Drayton.
Mr Blakemore, a company director at Quick Cad Solutions in Macclesfield, leaves behind a wife Karen and two daughters.
She said: 'We are a grieving family of three instead of a family of four. He was a devoted father and we loved him very much.'
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or either of the vehicles beforehand, to come forward.
PC Simon Fearn, of Market Drayton Police, said: 'The collision took place on the A529 about a quarter of a mile from the junction with Heywood Lane on the Shropshire-Cheshire border.
'The rider of the motorcycle was taken to Leighton Hospital in Crewe where he later died from his injuries.
'The police investigation into the circumstances around this incident is ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened to contact me.
'The black Audi involved came from the direction of Audlem and the motorcycle from the direction of Market Drayton. I would like to hear from anyone who saw either of these vehicles prior to the collision to come forward.'
Police officers from Cheshire Constabulary assisted West Mercia officers with road closures. Anyone with information can phone PC Fearn on 08457 444888.
