A CHARITY event is being held for fashion-forward mums at a children’s play area.
Organised by a group of event management students from the University of Chester, Dress Swap is in aid of the Countess of Chester neonatal ward and takes place at 7pm on Thursday, April 7 at Funky Town on Grange Road.
Funky Town has installed a sensory room which is focussed towards helping the development of babies from a young age, particularly premature babies.
Funky Town owner Hayley McKenna said: “Every day I am lucky enough to see healthy children enjoying themselves at Funky Town both within the sensory room and the play structure.
“It is important to remember that not all babies are born this way. The work that is carried out by staff at the neonatal unit really is lifesaving.
“The Dress Swap is a great way to give mums a bit of a night out while supporting a worthwhile cause.”
Guests are invited to bring along a dress that they don’t wear any more and swap it for a different one.
With summer on the way, it is a way to spruce up your wardrobe with no pressure on your purse.
The evening will include a complimentary drink and canapes on arrival, a prize raffle and performances by a live acoustic band.
Jade Murray, director of The Student Events Company, said “This event will be a great chance for hard working mums to come along and be pampered for the evening, leave the kids at home and let your hair down, all for a fantastic cause.”
Tickets for the Dress Swap cost £5 and proceeds will be donated to the Neonatal ward to go towards assisting them in the amazing work that they do every day.
