A 61-year-old man from Farndon and a 71-year-old man from Ellesmere Port are among six men charged with a total of 27 offences of serious sexual assault against two boys in the 1980s, following an investigation by the National Crime Agency into allegations of historical abuse in the care system in North Wales.

Keith Stokes, from Farndon, has been charged with three counts of indecent assault, three counts of gross indecency, one count of buggery and one count of attempted buggery.

David Lightfoot, from Ellesmere Port, has been charged with three counts of indecent assault, one count of buggery and one count of attempted buggery.

The offences are alleged to have taken place against two boys aged under 16 in the Wrexham area between 1981 and 1986.

Both men have been bailed and will appear at Mold Magistrates Court on June 12, along with the other four men, who come from Leicester, Connah’s Quay, Maidenhead and Wrexham.

Three people have previously been charged with offences by the National Crime Agency’s Operation Pallial.
