A Cheshire-based events company has brought back the Farndon 10k.

Cute Fruit Events is bringing the race back on Sunday, October 19, after three years and is expecting as many as 400 runners to tackle the flat anti-clockwise loop.

The race will start and finish on Wetreins Lane and a full road closure will be in operation.

Among those competing are brother and sister Garry Knox and Sherryl Evans, who are hoping to raise money for Ehlers-Danlos Support UK and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity.

Event director Michael Harrington said: “It is a brilliant course that has been missing for years. Our company Cute Fruit Events has resurrected the race and we are expecting around 400 competitors ranging from some top local club runners from both sides of the border right through to first-timers and all are welcome.”

With cash prizes for winners and goody bags for all finishers, it is the taking part that counts.

Masseurs from South Cheshire College’s sports physiotherapy department will be in attendance, as well as retailer Up & Running Chester.

Entry costs £10 for United Kingdom Athletics registered runners or £12 if not.
