The family of a motorcyclist from Cuddington who died following a collision has paid tribute to their ‘beloved’ son.

Twenty-six-year-old Gareth Worrall’s Derbi bike was involved in a collision with a white Renault Trafic van on Dalefords Lane in Whitegate at around 10.45am on Friday (September 11).

His loved ones have thanked an off-duty police officer and nurse who stopped at the scene and assisted Mr Worrall until an ambulance arrived.

In a statement released by Cheshire Constabulary, they said: “Beloved son of Yvonne Lewis, dearly beloved brother of Chelsea, Abbey, Kayleigh and Sian, and a beloved uncle to Ellie and Charlie.

“Sadly missed by all your family and friends and your beloved dog Rallo.

“Sleep tight, God bless, love you.”

Mr Worrall's friend Chris Cruse said he was 'such a great mate'.

"He would do anything for anybody - we had some amazing memories together which will last forever," he said.

"It still doesn't feel real and I can't get my head around it but he will be missed by his family and friends, but never forgotten in our hearts.

"Rest in peace Gareth Lewis."

Rosie Buckby added: "Such a sweet guy. So kind hearted and would help anyone out. Will be missed. Have some great memories pal. God bless."

Both vehicles were travelling in the direction of Winsford when the collision occurred near Lamb Cottage Caravan Park.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

Police are appealing for anyone with information relating to the collision to get in touch.

Sgt Neil Farnworth, investigating officer, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the local area around the time of this incident and believes that they may have any information that could assist us with our enquiries.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who saw either of the vehicles involved in the incident prior to the collision occurring.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 283 of September 11, 2015.

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
