PUB staff are joining a trek the length of the UK to raise money in memory of a girl who died from meningitis
Jo Higham, landlady of the Leigh Arms in Little Leigh, has got pub staff and regulars to do part of a walk from John O'Groats to Land's End on Friday, October 13.
They hope to raise hundreds of pounds for the Spencer Dayman Meningitis UK charity.
Jessica Barbet, Jo's three-year-old niece, died on January 12 last year just hours after being diagnosed with meningococcal septicaemia. Since then the family has raised more than £25,000 for meningitis research.
Jo said: 'The walk can be joined at different points all over the country.
'We walk from Newton le Willows at 9am to the Cabbage Hall at Little Budworth, 20 miles away.
'The charity this is in aid of is looking for a vaccine to eradicate meningitis.'
Joining Jo will be Jessica's parents Becky Higham and Paul Barbet, uncle Vince Higham, aunty Liz Williams, cousin David Williams and friends Terence Joseph, Rach Collier, Donna Hough, Rach Moreland and three customers.
