YOUNG and old are invited to a dog show at Ashton Hayes Primary School.

Sausage catching, musical sits and canine capers will be just some of the activities happening at the school on Sunday, October 14.

There will also be an obstacle course for dogs as well as traditional classes such as cutest puppy, fancy dress and best rescue dog.

Other attractions include alpacas, crafts, guide dogs and refreshments.

And a representative from Dial-A-Dog Wash is offering washes and nail clipping at a third of usual prices.

Organiser Gill Forgrave said it hopes to be a ‘great day’.

“The idea for the show came from the children at the school and a few mums have organised it with them in mind,” she said.

“We’ve had a good response already but everyone is welcome to join us on the day – with or without dogs.

“We’re grateful for the support we have received, all proceeds will go to school funds.”

The dog show starts at noon and registration for classes is from 11.30am, with entry £1 per class or 50p for the obstacle course.

The event was originally scheduled to take place this weekend but has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
