FAMILY teams braved the showers on Saturday to take part in a treasure hunt at Huntington Community Primary School.

Cycling or walking their way around Huntington, the teams found clues which would lead them to the top prizes.

After the hunt, the teams enjoyed a healthy snack of fruit and juice back at the school, before the new headteacher, Duncan Rose, presented prizes to the lucky winners.

Organiser Kerry Griffiths said: “Two of our local businesses have been fantastic.

“The Bike Factory in Boughton gave us a £50 voucher and a heap of cycling equipment, while Chester Roman Tours’ director Paul Harston donated a Roman-led walking tour of Chester.”

The healthy event was run in conjunction with Change 4 Life and the school’s Parents and Teachers Association hopes to make it an annual event.

The Pete’s Pirates team won the walking route of the treasure hunt, while Team AEO triumphed for the cycling route.

Team Me and Daddy, made up of Sophie and Paul Pickering, took home a goody bag for coming up with the best team name.
