EXPANSION was approved in a Green Belt property.

The new build was put forward by Mr and Mrs Hughes at Naini Tal on Hinderton Road in Neston.

Mr and Mrs Hughes told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council they were proposing to remove two single storey extensions on the side of the detached, two storey property and erect a two storey extension at the side and a single storey extension at the rear.

No objections were raised by Neston Civic Society and there were no comments from Neston Town Council or from neighbours.

Planners suggested the additional width of the two storey side extension would not increase its effect on the appearance of Hinderton Road.

It would reflect the scale and proportion of the property.

The overall increase in floor space would be 33%, slightly more than the 30% guideline but planning officers did not believe this would affect the openness of that part of the Green Belt.

There would be no unacceptable loss of amenity to neighbours although planners felt any additional windows facing nearby Thorncroft Cottage and Overdale Farm should require permission.

The application was recommended for approval.

The borough the council agreed the extensions could be accepted.
