A RECORD number of entries made this year’s Tattenhall Annual Show one of the most successful for years.
There were more than 800 entries in 84 classes in the show which was moved from Saturday to Sunday. According to Andy Scarratt, the show secretary, the photography and art sections were the fastest growing with 200 entries this year.
The show, at the Barbour Institute, also saw an increase in children’s entries, with 48 submissions from the under 12s.
Overall show winner was Jim Harris and Carol Siddorn took second place.
Tattenhall Parish Council also presented awards to local businesses and residents for their Transform Tattenhall competition that has been running throughout the summer.
The competition, to encourage hanging baskets and floral displays in the parish, was won by: Businesses: 1 Rookery Surgery; 2 Tattenhall Pharmacy; 3 Manor Court Veterinary Centre, Residents: 1 Carol Gregory; 2 Sarah Bardell; 3 Liz Stubbs.
The awards were presented by Diana Barbour.
