BUSINESSMAN and former Chester City chairman Stephen Vaughan and his ex-club captain son Stephen Vaughan Jnr will appear at Liverpool Crown Court in September charged with fracturing a police officer’s cheek.
Controversial former chairman Vaughan, 48, of Thurstaston Road, Heswall, and his son Stephen Vaughan Jnr, 25, also of Thurstaston Road, appeared at Wirral magistrates court yesterday and were committed to crown court for the allegations of serious assault in Heswall on Easter Sunday at 10.10pm.
Represented by their solicitor, John Brown, the pair did not enter any pleas and were bailed on the condition they do not approach the police officer.
Magistrate Eileen Ashton said: “These matters will go to crown court and you will attend the Queen Elizabeth Crown Court on September 23 at 10am.”
A third man, 29-year-old co-defendant Paul Garner, of Millfield, Neston, is also charged with GBH and will appear before magistrates on June 2 to be committed to crown court.
