A FORMER soap star is organising a charity night of music and comedy in Ellesmere Port.
Vince Earl, who played Ron Dixon in Channel 4's Brookside, wants people to attend the event at the town's Civic Hall on Thursday, March 31.
Claire House Children's Hospice will be a beneficiary on the night, which is entitled Rockin' and Laughin'.
Vince, who lives in Chester, said: 'The event combines the three Ms - Merseyside, mirth and music - which instinctively go together.
'The list of comedians from Merseyside is endless and in the 1960s Merseybeat changed the face of popular music worldwide.
'A lot of the guys who shaped the music of Merseybeat are still rocking on. Together with some of the area's finest comedians, they are bringing a great show to the Civic Hall.'
Vince, ex-member of the Talismen and Hurricanes, will perform comedy and sing with his group The Attraction.
He will be joined by, among others, Kingsize Taylor, Geoff Nugent's Undertakers, The Kirbys and Juke Box Eddies.
Comedienne Pauline Daniels will appear, as will Peter Price, of Radio City fame, and comic Mickey Finn.
The show starts at 7.45pm. Tickets are £10 from the box office, on 0151 355 7652.
