Award-winning estate agents Swetenhams and Jones & Chapman part of the Sequence group raised £280 for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, at a recent event held at the Mercure Chester North Woodhey House Hotel.

The money was kindly donated by staff at the end-of-year party, held for branches across the North West division, which includes offices throughout Cheshire, The Wirral and Merseyside.

Jones & Chapman and Swetenhams, part of the Sequence Group, has adopted CLIC Sargent as its chosen charity since 2001 and will continue that partnership in 2014. As little as £33 of the money raised could pay for an hour of a CLIC Sargent nurse’s time enabling them to coordinate clinical and non-clinical care for children with cancer to maximise the amount of time they can safely spend at home.

Claire Shovelton, Area Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, says: “For most of us the recent holiday season is about getting together with family, laughing, drinking and eating way too much! But for some families the festive period was a worrying and upsetting time and the start of a long journey for their child. At CLIC Sargent we hope they never take this journey alone and the fantastic support Swetenhams has provided will help reduce the impact of cancer on children, young people and their families.”
