CHESTER Lions Club will set the sky alight on Saturday with its annual fireworks display at Chester Racecourse.

The fun night raises thousands of pounds for charities.

Gates open at 5.30pm and there is live entertainment from 6pm including stars from Dee 106.3, a funfair, clowns and facepainting.

The kids’ display kicks off at 6.45pm and the main display at 7.30pm will be launched by the Lord Mayor of Chester Cllr John Ebo. Tickets £6 adults, children 6-16 £3,under sixes free.

Frodsham and Helsby

AN EXPLOSIVE time awaits residents in Frodsham and Helsby at a fireworks spectacular this Saturday.

The bonfire night bonanza is being held at Helsby Community Sports Club, Chester Road, on Saturday, November 7, from 7.30pm.

This year there will be an entrance charge of £3 for adults, £1 for children or £10 for a family for those willing to pay.

The firework display will also feature a children’s fairground, refreshments and a bar will be available, as well as parking on site.

People are warned not bring their own fireworks to the event.
