An inspirational song about a parent’s love for their child has been written for brave tot Anya Bentham.

For You (Song For Anya) was penned by up-and-coming performer Emma Wells in a bid to raise money for the two-year-old’s campaign.

The musician, who lives in Helsby with her husband Simon and three sons, hopes the track will also help to spread awareness of aggressive childhood cancer neuroblastoma, which Anya has been bravely battling since October last year.

Anya, who is originally from Connah’s Quay, but now lives in Waverton, Chester, was given the all-clear from the disease in July, but parents Naomi Stanley and Graeme Bentham are continuing their fundraising appeal as the cancer has a high return rate.

Emma, 30, said: “I had to make sure that I got the song right for both the family and Anya and asked a few other musicians to come in and help.

“There were five of us working on the song all together, and we are just waiting for it to be mastered before it can go on sale on iTunes.

“I’m really happy with the final piece, I haven’t met Anya but I am a mum myself and decided to come at the song from a parental point of view.

“The lyrics are all about the way a parent loves their child and how they would do anything for them.”

The mum-of-three has recently been named Caffe Nero’s Artist of the Month for October and is currently performing on a UK-wide tour of the company’s coffee shops.

She added: “I really want to raise as much as I can with the track and hope that my tour will help me to spread the song that little bit further.”

Emma will arrive on the ‘home leg’ of her tour next month, playing Chester’s Eastgate Street and Foregate Street Caffe Nero on Sunday, November 3.

A preview of For You (Song For Anya) is available at Emma Wells Music on Soundcloud and the track is expected to be on iTunes before Christmas.
