ELLESMERE Port MP Andrew Miller released details of his Additional Cost Allowance claim for 2007-8.
During this period Mr Miller claimed just under £9,000 for mortgage payments on his second home in London.
Other expenses included a monthly council tax rate of under £180, food averaging about £150-a-month, and utility, telephone and cleaning costs.
The expense forms, bill statements and invoices were published on his personal website. Addresses and bank details have been blacked out.
Mr Miller said he would be shortly uploading further information covering previous years as well as the costs of running his constituency office.
Mr Miller said: “I fully understand why the reported actions of some Members of Parliament have caused anger among the public and there is an urgent need to change the system of accountability.
“I have no problem about the relevant data going into the public domain.
“Since I have been in the House the average number of days Parliament sat has been 158. My claim for the last year worked out at about £110 for each of those days. That is a large sum but substantially below the maximum allowable.
“Sadly, in terms of London prices that is nevertheless a realistic figure. Those costs are incurred in supporting a second home in an environment that is accessible to Parliament as well as being secure at weekends and when the House is not sitting.
“Not a penny piece of this allowance is spent on my Cheshire home that my wife and I have lived in for over 20 years.”
