A grateful mum organised a charity night and raised more than £1,000 for young cancer patients.
Dianne Price was so grateful for the support her daughter received from CLIC Sargent, which helps children and young people with cancer and their families, that she organised the event and raised £1,050.
In 2013, at just 22 years old and with a newborn baby, Kama Russell was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
Kama’s mum Dianne was so grateful for the support the family received from CLIC Sargent during her daughter’s treatment that she decided to give something back.
She hosted the charity night at Ellesmere Port and District Labour Social Club with entertainment from Tracey Lane and DJ Tony Ash.
Generous local businesses supported the evening by donating lots of raffle prizes with the buffet kindly donated by G J Window Cleaners in the town.
Friends and family supported Dianne, making the night a huge success.
Dianne said: “My night wouldn’t have been such a success without the help from friends and family and a very patient partner.
“I’m hoping my next fundraiser raises even more for CLIC Sargent and I will continue to support the charity.”
CLIC Sargent fundraising manager Hayley Weaver said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Dianne and her family and friends for raising such a fantastic amount for CLIC Sargent, and wish her well for her future fundraising.
“We really appreciate the hard work and generosity that has gone into raising the money.
“Every penny will help provide vital support for children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
Dianne is already busy planning her next fundraising event, a family fun day at The Groves Sports and Social Club in Ellesmere Port on May 2, 2016.
