A man from Ellesmere Port was found dead on a slip road in Chester yesterday (Sunday, September 25).

Cheshire Police received a report at 3.30pm on Sunday of concerns for the safety of a 44-year-old man at the junction 12 slip road of the M53, off the A55 in Chester.

It was reported that his car, a Rover 25, had left the carriageway and had entered a field.

On arrival officers established the man had died at the scene.

A Cheshire Police spokesman confirmed his next of kin have been informed and a formal identification has taken place.

The spokesman said a file will now be prepared for the coroner.
