CONSERVATIVE parliamentary candidate for Ellesmere Port and Neston Stuart Penketh has just arrived at the count.

The Tory candidate looking tired from exhaustive campaigning said that he thought the result could go to the wire this morning.

He said: "We have fought a very positive campaign. It's going to be a close result so we will have to wait and see. What I would like to see is that Tory is back and alive and kicking in Ellesmere Port.

The result is expected now at 2am.
