UKIP hopeful Charles Dodman will continue on the Eddisbury campaign beat right up until tonight’s General Election count.

The Chester-based accountant, who gained a few young voters at Tarporley High School following his colourful performance at a recent hustings event, will be visiting various polling stations across the constituency this afternoon.

But home is where the heart is for Mr Dodman, who is looking forward to the result announcement expected at about 3am tomorrow, will be visiting his mum before heading out to meet prospective voters.

He said: “I really enjoyed the campaign, meeting voters on the doorstep and talking to so many different people. It makes you feel important, at least for a few weeks anyway.

“I am going to visit my mum, who I try and see at least once a day, as she is in a nursing home in Wrexham.

“I am not nervous about the result at all as all my friends and family and many others have said they would vote for me.

“It’s a shame that we a re getting a bit squeezed though as the two main parties are trying to scare people into voting traditionally.”

Tonight’s Election 2010 count for Eddisbury takes place at Winsford Lifestyle Centre.
