A BRIGHT RED ribbon was cut to mark the opening of a new outdoor ‘classroom’.
The space, at Lache Primary School on Hawthorn Road, Lache, has been created by the school using Government funding and helps children in the reception class to develop outdoor learning skills.
Fun and learning equipment includes a smiley caterpillar tunnel, an alphabet game and plenty of opportunities to make things move or make a noise.
The playground was opened by four-year-old Alfie Gilmartin with a little help with the ribbon cutting from county manager for children and families Sue Egersdorff and Chester MP Christine Russell.
Mrs Russell said: “The children are absolutely delighted with the new classroom.
“I was surprised at some of the activities on offer in what is effectively a wonderful outdoor learning environment”.
Mrs Russell congratulated headteacher Sue Pearson on the project.
