EDDISBURY’S Labour parliamentary candidate Pat Merrick has revealed she will ‘chill out’ to the tunes of Paul Heaton in a pub in Winsford before heading to the count tonight.
Mrs Merrick says she has a busy polling day planned, touring polling stations throughout Eddisbury.
She said: “ The first thing I have to do is cook my husband and kids am meal for tonight because I won’t see them all day, then I will be heading out and about in Eddisbury and try and drop in as many polling stations as possible.”
Mrs Merrick who voted by postal vote earlier on in the week said it has been an exciting and exhausting campaign for both her and her family.
“I have three first time voters in my household, and it is very odd because it will probably be the only time they vote for their mum.”
Mrs Merrick said she has been extremely happy with how her campaign has gone but now has greater respect for all parliamentary candidates and MPs.
“It has been extremely hard work. There have been a lot of good things, seeing people get involved and engaged with the political process. But there have also been many tough parts, the nasty phone calls and messages through my letter box, sometimes have been quite shocking. People should show their views at the polling station, not by putting nasty messages through my door.”
After touring the polling stations throughout the day Mrs Merrick will be heading to a pub in Winsford to watch former Beautiful South singer Paul Heaton perform.
She said: “It will be a great way to chill out before heading to the count.”
