CHESHIRE West and Chester Council Leader Mike Jones says he will visit all four counts this evening.

He started his evening in Eddisbury, and he is now heading to Northwich for Weaver Vales's count and then on to Chester and Ellesmere Port.

He said: "I started here in Eddisbury because this is our safest seat. It all looks pretty good here. We have have good strong group of local councillors who have all given brilliant support."

The Eddisbury count is still waiting for the last few boxes.

That's the thing about Eddisbury it is so rural it will take that much longer. I expect we will take Chester. What would be really special is if we manage Ellesmere Port, and I am sure it could happen."

"I have just been so pleased with our councillors and the strong support they have given the party.

"We have been working with the party nationally and we will continue to work with the party on a national level. It all looks very positive."
