An Easter Monday crash on the M53 near Cheshire Oaks which caused queues for drivers has now cleared.

Emergency services attended the scene of the accident northbound at junction 10 at about 11.45am on Monday (March 28).

The bank holiday has given bargain hunters the chance to hit the sales at the outlet village.

North West Motorway Police tweeted to say the vehicles involved had been moved to the hard shoulder.

Congestion has built at J10 with queues stretching back to the motorway's exchange with the M56.

Drivers have been asked to plan ahead for their journeys because of the delays.

Cheshire Police tweeted: "Please be aware of extra traffic in the area of Cheshire Oaks today, especially at J10. Please allow extra time for your journey."
