A COUNTRY pub will pulling pints again more than two years after time was called.

The Dunham Arms pub, Chester Road, Dunham on the Hill, has recently undergone a transformation and – following a complete refurbishment – will be focusing on traditional British cuisine in a bid to bring back customers.

Matt Wilson is new licensee of the Marston’s pub and has been working as a chef in the area for the past 21 years.

He said: “The pub is looking great.

“It’s fresh and modern whilst retaining all its original charm.

“I can’t wait to bring a real country pub back to area and look forward to welcoming the community back.

“We are trying to offer the public quality food in a warm pub atmosphere without it costing the earth.

“There will be lots of deals throughout the week to suit all palettes from grills and curry nights through to fish Friday.”

The pub, which opened on Monday after being closed for two and a half years, has created 17 new jobs in the area.

Matt, who will be running the pub with his business partner Tori Hanson, added: “The pub will also be holding weekly coffee mornings for mothers and toddlers on Sunday’s at 9am.”
