POLICE carried out a drugs raid at a house in Chester.
It took place on Thursday, March 20, at a house in North Street, Great Boughton. The search warrant was obtained under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A 32-year-old man was arrested and taken to Blacon Police Station for further questioning.
DS Barry Brown, of Chester Inner NPU, said: “We acted on intelligence that indicated there was a quantity of drugs at the address. This sends out a strong message to the community – first of all it reassures law-abiding residents that something is being done to tackle this type of crime, and secondly it dissuades others who may be tempted to follow that path.”
Leaflets were delivered to neighbours to explain what had happened.
Local officer PC Julia Williams said: “Although it is not always possible to act quickly on any one piece of information, much work goes on behind the scenes to ensure evidence is gathered to convict drug dealers of these offences. Every piece of information, no matter how small, helps us to help you.”
Any information can be passed in confidence to the Inner Neighbourhood Policing Unit on 0845 458 6384.
