A man in his mid to late 20s sparked concerns for his well-being this morning (December 14) because he was running in and out of traffic on a busy main road coming into Chester .

The incident happened just before 8am in Liverpool Road, outside Queen's Lower School, where passing motorists later had to negotiate their way around an ambulance parked in the middle of the carriageway along with two police cars.

Cheshire Police spokeswoman Rachel Hayes said: "There was concern for the safety of a man. He was behaving oddly and running in and out of traffic but is now being taken to hospital."

The incident caused a slight build-up traffic at the time as vehicles manoeuvred around the emergency services.
