A MAN was hit with a cosh and robbed at a car park exit barrier in Chester.

Three men approached the driver of a silver Volkswagen Passat as he left the barrier entrance of Wharton Court, Hoole Lane, Chester, at 3.20pm on Friday, December 8.

One of them pushed and held the victim, while another forced open the boot of the car, stealing a bag from within. The victim was then hit across the side of the head with a cosh and the men ran off toward the canal area of Spital Walk.

Cheshire Police spokesperson Glyn Hellam said: 'The first man is described as white, about 6ft tall and 27 years old.

'He had a tanned complexion and short dark hair which was brushed forward.

'He had a slim face with a large nose and was of athletic build. He was wearing a three-quarter length black designer raincoat, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

'The second man was also white and had dark ginger cropped hair.

'He was between 25 and 27 years old, about 5ft 7ins tall and was of stocky build with a rough shaved complexion and freckles on his face and he was wearing a short black jacket.

'The third man was white and about 25 to 27, of slim build, about 5ft 7ins-5ft 8ins tall, and was wearing a black top and blue jeans.'
