PREMATURE babies' health will be improved thanks to a big-hearted staff at a dot com business.

Infants born prematurely or with birth complications at the Countess of Chester Hospital will benefit from new blood oxygen monitors and specialist pumps to administer fluids and drugs bought with £15,000 donated by Moneysupermarket.com.

Staff chose the hospital's Special Care Baby Unit as their company charity of the year and undertook fundraising activities including climbing Snowdon and donating cash instead of buying Christmas cards.

The company donated £1 for every pound raised by staff.

Chief executive Simon Nixon, a Chester resident, attended the ward on Tuesday to hand over the final instalment of the cash to hospital fundraising manager Janet Ratcliffe.

She said: 'This equipment is vital and was urgently needed. Thanks to staff at moneysupermarket.com these babies will have a better start in life. The equipment will literally help save lives.'
