TRINITY Mirror Cheshire has joined forces with the Army to bring home comforts to soldiers from the county serving in Iraq.

The 1st Battalion the 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment is now patrolling the tension-filled south of the country around Basra.

So to ensure our troops are kept in touch with what's happening at home we have arranged for copies of their favourite local newspapers to be delivered to them, free of charge, every week for their entire deployment.

That means not only copies of the Crewe, Nantwich and Sandbach Chronicles but also our sister papers covering Chester, Mid Cheshire, Runcorn and Widnes.

Regimental spokesman Captain Alan Hughes said: 'We are very grateful to Trinity Mirror Cheshire for arranging for these papers to be sent out to Iraq.'
