A KNIFEMAN cut a walker's throat with a 12in kitchen knife - because a dog ran in front of his car.

The 41-year-old needed five stitches and was kept in the Countess of Chester Hospital over night.

He was out walking his two dogs down Durham Road, Blacon, at 10pm on Wednesday when one bounded into the road.

A car was forced to stop and the passenger, a 6ft overweight man, got out clutching the blade. He grabbed the dog walker and put the knife to his throat before drawing it across.

His victim fell to the floor and was beaten before running home.

The attacker was white, about 20 years old, with short dark hair and a blue sweatshirt with a round neck. The car may be a dark blue R registration Vauxhall Astra.
