LARGELY self-taught equestrian and feline artist June Fox received the Highly Commended award at the annual exhibition of The Wildlife Art Society International held recently at Nature in Art in Twigworth in Gloucestershire.

Coming tops against worldwide competitors, June, a lover of animals and staunch supporter of the RSPCA is “absolutely thrilled” to win the award for her painting Neofelis Nebulosa, Latin for the Clouded Leopard found in the jungles of SouthEast Asia. She commented: “It was lovely to receive a medal instead of a piece of paper, and to exhibit at such a prestigious exhibition”.

A previous prize winner at The Grosvenor Arts and Deeside Art Group, June grew up in Cambridgeshire where her love of animals, horses and cats in particular was formed. Her paintings are largely based on her two favourite animals with her feline range proving top-sellers.

As a founding member of Animal Earth, an exciting new group working to promote animal art who enjoyed a successful first exhibition at the Willington Hall Hotel in Cheshire, June wishes to establish herself alongside her paintings in the broad and expanding London market. With this recently-won award under her belt, the future looks promising.
