THE organ at Chester Cathedral will be under scrutiny next week.

On Thursday, November 8, the cathedral’s director of music Philip Rushforth, will give a demonstration of the grand organ, speaking about its history and significance.

He and assistant director of music Benjamin Chewter will then demonstrate the instrument in all its glory with a duet.

Unusually, the audience will be seated in the south transept and thus have the best view and sound.

Tickets are £5 (including light refreshments) and are available from 01244 500959 or online at www.chestercathedral.com
