A DIRECTORY of mental health services has been launched by Halton Parental and Child Mental Health Forum.
Hilary Dover, Halton Primary Care Trust's director of health and social care, was involved in the event to recognise the importance of mental illness prevention and the promotion of mental health.
The forum was formed two years ago to promote a multi-agency approach in the mental health care of parents and children through pregnancy and pre-school years.
The lack of a comprehensive guide to local services was identified and the new directory was created to correct this.
The directory outlines individual services including referral criteria and contact details, which will be a valuable source in satisfying the mental health needs of parents and children.
It is available through local libraries, GP practices, health centres, clinics, Sure Starts and Citizen Advice Bureaux.
