A PUBLIC exhibition will unveil detailed plans for a housing development in Tarvin and give villagers the chance to have their say.
Taylor Wimpey, which was granted outline planning permission to build homes on land off Tarporley Road back in March, will hold the exhibition from 2-7pm on Monday, August 6, in Tarvin Community Centre.
The developer will present a draft of its detailed proposals to build 126 homes ranging from two to five-bedroom properties, 35% of which will be affordable.
It wants residents’ feedback on the plans before submitting a full planning application, possibly before the end of next month, with a view to starting work in 2013.
Gareth Owen, land and planning officer at Taylor Wimpey, told Tarvin Parish Council on Monday: “The support we’ve had to date from the community has been excellent and we hope that continues.”
As part of a Section 106 agreement with Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC), Taylor Wimpey will provide £179,505 for Tarvin Primary School to expand its facilities and increase capacity.
They will also provide CWaC with £75,000 for parking and highways improvements in the village centre, as well as £9,000 so they can carry out a speed and traffic assessment on Tarporley Road and make any necessary changes.
Finally, Taylor Wimpey – despite not being required to – will pay £30,500 for a BMX track to be built somewhere in the village.
Before any work can begin on the site, four newts must be transferred to a new habitat provided by the developer on the other side of Tarporley Road.
Parish councillors said they would be pushing CWaC to adopt the children’s play area that will be provided on the site, rather than having residents paying for a management company to maintain it.
They also want a bridleway, separated from the planned footpath, to run alongside the development up to Broomheath Lane.
