FARMERS from Kingsley were named regional winner at the Beautiful Farm Awards held at the House of Lords in London.
Celebrity chef and TV personality James Martin hosted the annual event, held last week, and handed Graham and Liz Warburton of Depmore Farm, Kingsley, their second agriculture award in as many months
“We were thrilled to be shortlisted for this Farming Award and had a wonderful day out at the House of Lords,” said Graham.
“Coming away with the Regional Award was the icing on the cake.”
The Warburtons – third generation farmers of mainly beef, corn and potatoes – were given the North West award for their work to boost biodiversity on the farm, especially for farmland birds and sympathetic and its positive soil and watercourse management; as well as educational access for schools and the general public.
The Beautiful Farm Awards were hosted by Lord Palmer, a member of the EU Sub-committee for Environment and Agriculture, and is sponsored by New Holland Agriculture and organised by Farm
