On-demand restaurant meal delivery service Deliveroo launches in Ellesmere Port today (August 10).
Among the more than 15 restaurants which have signed up so far are Saffron, Sizzlin Spice Grill, Ed’s Easy Diner and Pizza Express, so the town’s hungry foodies can now get their favourite dishes from their most-loved eateries delivered straight to their door.
The service aims to deliver customers’ orders within 32 minutes.
Deliveroo say more than 50 jobs will be created for people in the area in the next 12 months.
'Real appetite' for the service
General manager Caroline Hazlehurst said: “We’re extremely excited to be launching in Ellesmere Port and we’re looking forward to bringing some of the town’s delicious dishes straight from the hands of local chefs to customers’ doors.
“Ellesmere Port is a multicultural and prosperous area with a diverse range of restaurants and we have seen a real appetite for the service.
“We already have a number of great partners across the town and we are excited to expand and widen the variety of restaurants on offer to our customers in Ellesmere Port over the course of the next year.”
Customers have the option to schedule orders via the app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between noon and 11pm, for a £2.50 delivery fee.
Deliveroo launched in London in 2013 and now operates in more than 70 cities around the world.
