A NORTHWICH man appeared before Chester Crown Court yesterday charged with robbery and possession of fire arms.
Gavin Short, 39, of Stonehays Lane, Barnton, is accused of robbing £17,000 in cash from the Tesco store in Weaverham on August 18 and attempting to rob Co-op in Weaverham on September 4.
On both occasions it is alleged he was in possession of firearms with the intention of committing robbery.
It followed an attempted robbery at the Co-op supermarket on Northwich Road, Weaverham, last Monday morning.
Short was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing on November 14.
