Deeside College recently hosted the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s (CIPD) student awards ceremony, for over 60 students and their guests and teachers.
The event celebrated the successes of students who have recently completed their certificates in Personnel Practice and Training Practice. The students who are professionals working in training and development and personnel positions across the region, have been studying at Deeside College and Wirral Metropolitan College.
Lesley Rasmussen, Programme Area Manager for Management and Retail welcomed the event and the links between the College and C.I.P.D. The guest speaker was Tina Stephens, a well-respected local figure in the fields of HR and management development author and recently a Chief Examiner of CIPD. In her address she recalled how Deeside College had been the start of her career and encouraged the students to maintain and develop networking skills in their professional lives. Supported by Janet Kelly CIPD Branch Chair, Tina then went on to present Certificates to the students and make awards to the Students of the Year from each College.
Jan Kelly expressed her thanks to the College and said, “CIPD were delighted take the opportunity to congratulating each of the students’ success, having studied hard whilst holding down demanding jobs and juggling family and personal commitments.”
