The deceased male was hauled out of the water close to the canal side by Cheshire Police’s underwater search team.
The body was found under the railway bridge near Telford’s Warehouse pub at 8.17am.
Police were alerted to the incident after a member of staff at Telford’s alerted emergency services.
Access was gained to the section of the canal that flows under St Martin’s Way from Canal Street.
The identity and age of the male is unknown and police do not suspect that there are any other parties involved at this stage.
Cheshire Police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: "There are no suspicious circumstances and HM Coroner has been informed. A post mortem will take place in due course."
