AN APPLICATION has been withdrawn for the change of use of offices on a busy village road to a children’s day nursery.

The change of use was proposed to The British School on Eaton Road, Tarporley.

Applicant Graham McCann, of Widnes, told planning officers new fencing would be erected to ensure the safety of the children.

There would be up to 15 staff, 12 of whom would be full-time, and the nursery would open between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

Tarporley Parish Council objected and said there were no plans indicating how the premises, occupied by Robert I Heyes and Associates, would be adapted.

Councillors felt there would be severe safety and traffic issues as the building is at a difficult point on Eaton Road.

They feared there would be increased parking on the road and pointed out that children being picked up and dropped off would coincide with busy traffic to the high school.

This had already been a source of repeated complaints by local people.

The application was listed as being withdrawn.
