FOLLOWING a successful year of fundraising, members of the 115 club from DARA Sealand presented a sizeable donation to a local charity.

The fundraising club has been in existence for almost 30 years, where each week, 115 members contribute 50p for a monthly prize draw. The profits from the draw are then presented annually to a local charity, chosen by the members.

Situated in the village of Backford, this year’s beneficiary, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, of fers free specialist palliative care for patients with life threatening illness, in the Chester, Deeside and Ellesmere Port area.

Medical, nursing, social, emotional and spiritual support is also provided for patients and their families,

The presentation of a cheque for £500 took place recently at the Hospice. The cheque was presented to the Hospice representative, Jemma Hamilton by DARA employee, Ian Doughty.
