NEARLY 30 people turned the lights off and danced in the shadows at Tilston War Memorial Hall.

The Nia dance event was done to support the WWF big Switch off Earth Hour event which encouraged people to turn off electrical appliances for one hour.

The non-for-profit community event encouraged men, women and children to the dance class which was lit by candlelight .

Teacher Mandy Clare said: “The main focus was to raise awareness of what we can do about climate change and the Earth Hour campaign and also to have fun but as a bonus we raised £130 for WWF.
